Seattle artist Mary Coss makes artwork inspired by life experience. Born in Detroit and raised in an atmosphere of politics, art, and spirituality she received her MFA from Syracuse University in an interdisciplinary sculpture and media department. Later studies and work experience provided a background in design, which led to her current interest in public art. She has lived throughout the United States collecting stories and telling them through her artwork. She currently divides her creative attention between studio work, teaching art workshops, and public art projects.
