| Artist Statement
I spent many years collecting stories and telling them through my artwork. Lately I’ve been collecting little pieces of our culture and allowing them to tell their own stories. I often find beauty in the scrap pile, in the things we throw away. I’m interested in taking these artifacts that carry common associations and their individual histories, and putting them into a new context. The story lives in this twist of materials and the questionable new life they have been granted. It is this thread that first evokes emotion, and then makes you ask why, that interests me. I want the questions to lead from the emotional response, from a place of curiosity or intrigue.
