“I find beauty in the discarded, in the stories we pass by and the things we throw away. I am drawn to look under the surface of the familiar at the inner workings of life and to use this inner fabric as inspiration. I am interested in the metaphors and allusions that live in this space, in this twist of materials. Materials bring with them certain associations: texture, feel, expectation. Consequently, the materials needed for each piece become evident and I flow between many natural and manmade media. I see my role of artist as an explorer and provocateur. I like to dangle a thread that evokes you to take a closer look. A thread that starts with the visceral or visual and proceeds through a process of emotional and psychological interest. Complexities of layers fascinate me. In my work, layers of thought, emotions, and references are integrated with layers of color and texture. I embrace multifaceted readings of the work.“
